My child is new to Dove this year. How can I find out if they would qualify for the PAT program? Students that are new to Dove this year and were in a gifted program at their previous school will be evaluated for the PAT Program during the first few weeks of school. First, I will contact your old school to confirm your child was either in a gifted program or was evaluated and met that district's criteria for the gifted program for this year. Then after gathering current testing and other data I will be able to move forward in the identification process. Once all the data has been collected, the PAT Selection Committee will meet to evaluate the information and make a placement
recommendation. This process should be completed before the PAT Program begins pull-out classes for the year.
When will PAT classes begin this year? PAT classes will begin the week of September 17, 2007.
When will my child be having PAT class? The PAT schedule for the 2007-2008 school year will be announced in both the Welcome Back letter that will come home with all PAT students during the first weeks of school. The schedule will also be available on the Schedule page available from this website.
My child is not currently in PAT class. When will he or she have an opportunity to apply? Nominations for PAT beging in March, usually right after spring break. Forms to nominate your child will be available in the school office. |
