Meet Me
Mrs. Hamilton has known in her heart that she wanted to work with children from a very early age. This passion is still alive even after 28 years in the classroom. She began her teaching career in Denton ISD in 1980 where she taught 1st and 5th grades. In 1986 she began teaching in the PAT program and feels that each year is just as exciting as the first. What better profession than one where children are encouraged to tackle challenging problems in a risk free, nurturing environment.
Mrs. Hamilton graduated from The University of North Texas with her degree in elementary education. She also received her kindergarten endorsement and a guidance counselor certification. Her Master of Education degree was obtained from Texas Woman’s University with an emphasis in gifted education.
She is extremely proud of being recognized as Heritage Elementary School 2006 Teacher of the Year. She was also selected as Region Xl Teacher of the Year and a 2006 state finalist.
Mrs. Hamilton is married and has two children. Her daughter, Terra Laine graduated from CHHS in May 2006. She is proud to call herself a TEXAS AGGIE! Mrs. Hamilton will miss her sweet smile but knows that she is ready for the ultimate college experience. Bryce, her son, is starting his junior year at CHHS. You have probably heard the beat of the snare drum in the wee hours of the morning and late at night as the drum line has marched countless miles across the CHHS parking lot. Throughout the year, you will find her supporting the CHHS Panthers and cheering on the Fighting Texas Aggies. Gig ‘em!
