What does PAT stand for?
PAT is an acronym for the Program for the Academically Talented.

Who attends PAT?
Students in grades 1-5 who apply and meet the district criteria attend PAT class once a week.

My child is new to Glenhope this year.
How can I find out if they would qualify for the PAT program?
Students that are new to Glenhope this year and were in a gifted program at their previous school will be evaluated for the PAT Program during the first few weeks of school. ~First, I will contact your old school to confirm your child was either in a gifted program or was evaluated and met that district's criteria for the gifted program for this year. Then after gathering current testing and other data I will be able to move forward in the identification process. Once all the data has been collected, the PAT Selection Committee will meet to evaluate the information and make a placement recommendation. This process should be completed before the PAT Program begins pull-out classes for the year.

My child is not currently in PAT class. When will he or she have an opportunity to apply?
Nominations for PAT begin in March, usually right after spring break.

When will PAT classes begin this year?
PAT classes will begin the week of September 4, 2006. During this week I will have short "Get to Know You" classes with every grade level to get everything prepared for starting another year. Full length PAT classes will begin the following week.

When will my child be having PAT class?
The PAT schedule for the 2006-2007 school year will be announced in both the Welcome Back letter that will come home with all PAT students during the first weeks of school. The schedule will also be available on the Schedule page available from this website.

Do PAT students get a report card?
PAT student's progress is assessed in the areas of Creative and Critical Thinking, Leadership, and Problem Solving.  A PAT Progress Report will come home with the regular report card at the end of each semester.
