Backing up to the GES Server
To back up to the building server you must first mount the server on your desktop.There are two ways to do this… with the alias on the TEACHER tab on your launcher, or through the chooser (if for some reason the alias doesn’t work).
IMPORTANT: You MUST be LOGGED IN to the computer with the TEACHER password in order to be able to back your stuff up to the server.
THE SHORT WAY :
1. Login to the computer with the TEACHER password.
2. Double click the TEACHERS alias on the TEACHER tab on your launcher
3. Enter your name (first and last names, no dots , etc.) and enter your password (see Amy if you don’t know it) and click CONNECT
THE LONG WAY: (if your alias
doesn’t work)
1. Login with Teacher password
2. Go to the CHOOSER (Click the Apple in the top left hand corner and click CHOOSER)
3. Click Apple Share on the left and double click GES.SERVER.B&W on the right
4. Enter your name (first and last name, no dots, etc.) and your password (see Amy if you don’t know it) and CONNECT
5. Scroll down and click TEACHERS (don’t click the box next to it, just click the name) and OK
6. Close the CHOOSER
The TEACHERS folder is now mounted on your desktop.
Now you can back up your files…
1. Find the TEACHERS icon on your desktop, open it and open YOUR folder.
2. Now open your MACINTOSH HD
3. Drag your SAVE FOLDER from the MACINTOSH HD to YOUR teacher folder.
When you are finished backing up your files, you need to drag the TEACHERS icon from your desktop to the TRASH to "Put it Away" and lock up your stuff.
