If Your Printer Won’t Print

Step 1:

1.Click the APPLICATION MENU (the top right hand corner of the screen)

a.If you don’t see PRINT MONITOR, continue to STEP 2.

b.If you see PRINT MONITOR, drag down to it and click

2.Check to be sure the PRINT MONITOR window does NOT say, STOPPED BY USER.

a.If it does, go to FILE and RESUME PRINTING

b.If it doesn’t, continue to STEP 2.

Step 2:

1.  Log in with the TEACHER password and go to the Chooser

2.  Click the icon for your printer (600 series, or DW 6.0.4 for 500 series)

3.  One of two things will happen:

A.If you don't see the icons on the right, go to STEP 3.

B.If you do see the icons, double click #1 (for 600 series printers) or the printer icon (for 500 series printers).  One of two things will happen:

1.If you get a message that says to power on or plug in your printer, be sure that it is powered on and plugged in, click OK, and go to STEP 3.

2.If you get a message that says the name of your printer, you are all set.

Step 3: (If you don't see the icons or you get the power on message)

1.Go to FILE and FIND... type "Keyspan" in the text box.

2.Click on "Keyspan USA-28x Manager"

3.Make sure the information looks the same as the picture below in the Port Name (should say "Printer Port USB), Receive FIFO (should be 16), and Default Buffer Size (should be 64) boxes. If it doesn't, type it in or select it.

4.Close the window.

5.Unplug and replug the Keyspan Adaptor

6.Now go to the Chooser

7.Click the icon for your printer on the left (600 series or DW 6.0.4 for 500 series)

8.Double click #1 (for 600 series printers) or the printer icon (for 500 series printers).  

9.Then close the window that comes up and close the Chooser.  You are all set!
