I was born in North Dakota and grew up in Minnesota and Illinois.  I am a devoted Chicago Cubs fan, yes even when they lose.  I still cheer for the Chicago Bears as well.  When I married a native Texan, I also learned how to cheer for the Cowboys.  I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a major in History and a minor in English and teacher certification.  My family has enjoyed living in the Grapevine area for over 16 years.

After college, I accepted a position with Hewlett-Packard and enjoyed my years as a project manager.  In 2003, I dusted off my teaching certificate and began my teaching career in Keller ISD.  This is my fifth year teaching history and it is truly a joy to share my love of history with my students.

Growing up, it seems I was always a Mustang, so it is fitting that both of my children will attend Grapevine High School.  My son currently represents the Mustangs on both the Cross Country team and the Track team.  My daughter is in the thrid grade at Glenhope Elementary.  She is in choir and soccer and hopes to follow her brother's footsteps with running as she gets older.

Mission and Goals

My goal is for my students to develop a love for history.  Students (and many parents) often see history as a boring class with irrevelent information for today's world.  My love of history comes from the people who made the history, not just the dates and important battles.  With a greater understanding of history, students will have the knowledge base that will allow them to understand the world in which they live.
