Spreadsheet: Click the link and scroll down to the graphing section at the bottom of the page. Students use the data provided to create 6 different graphs in a spreadsheet program. Topics for graphs include population growth line graph, rural/urban circle graph, immigration bar graph, manufacturing workers pictograph, tariff duty increases bar graph, and miles of railroad track line

Class HyperStudio Timeline Assign each student one event or invention of the Industrial Revolution to research. Students will then create a PowerPoint slide with several sentences about their event. They can use Clip Art or Pics4Learning or Industrial Revolution Clip Art to find a copyright free picture to accompany their information. Suggested timeline for completing activity: Day 1- In Lab- Students use Internet to research their assigned event or invention. They should find an appropriate picture for their topic and save it to the server. For homework, students compile their research into 4-5 sentences on the topic. Day 2- In Lab- Students use a word processing program to type their sentences. Save the document to the server. Day 3- In Classroom on one Computer-
Open the HyperStudio template. Students individually open their word processing document from the server and copy and paste the sentences into their HyperStudio slide. Then they insert their picture. I would suggest training the first student. Then each student trains the person after them. |
