Spreadsheet- Students collect statistical information about 5 different battles of the Civil War. Then, using a spreadsheet program, they will chart the information.
Word Processing- Students use this link to learn about Civil War slang and to read example diary entries. Then, using a word processing program, they will write a one week diary pretending that they are a soldier in the Civil War writing home using some Civil War Slang words.
Spreadsheet- Students use the provided link to collect information on the deaths in each state during the Civil War. Students can answer the questions on the worksheets, then pick a state and (using a spreadsheet program) graph the losses.
Inspiration Flow Chart- Students use Inspiration to create a cause and effect flow chart for the Civil War |

There are ideas for creating a Civil War timeline using Kid Pix, bar graphs with a spreadsheet program, charting the battle victories with a table in word processing, mapping (can be done with Kid Pix), and creating web pages with short biographies of Civil War leaders.
