Colleyville Middle School

Text Box: Objective:
The goal is for my students to take an active interest in their typing and academic progress.
Whether you are typing an email, chatting with friends online or creating a document at work, being a fast typist will save time and you will work more efficiently than those who “index finger” type.
This will be a class that will benefit you DAILY. Think about how many hours you are on the computer every day.. every week.. every year.
During the 1st 12 weeks, students will learn the following:
	1) Numeric Keypad (10 key)
	2) Alphabetic Keyboarding
	3) Numeric Keyboarding
Students will use MicroType Pro which is a keyboarding program that consists of a tutorial, reinforcement activities, educational games, and a word processor. A textbook will also be used in class.

Good news! 1 semester of keyboarding at the middle school level earns 1/2 credit for high school (26 credits are needed to graduate). It also satisfies the prerequisite for taking BCIS (Business Communication Information Systems).
